About Kinorg

Kinorg is a film tracking app built around three things: collaborative watchlists, AI-driven personalised recommendations, and Watch Together — shared recommendations for two.

Track what you've seen, discover what to watch next, and build shared lists with friends — all in one place.

Collaborative lists

Create a watchlist, invite friends, and let everyone contribute. It's designed for the real problem: you want to watch something together, but nobody can agree on what.

  1. Create a list — name it whatever you like.
  2. Invite friends — they get full edit access (but only you get to invite).
  3. Add films together — search across the full tmdb database.
  4. Watch, log, and review — track what you've seen as a group.

AI recommendations

The more you log, the better your recommendations get. Kinorg analyses the films you've watched and liked to surface titles you're genuinely likely to enjoy — not just what's popular right now.

Recommendations are powered by AI embeddings that understand the tone, themes, and style of films, combined with genre, director, and keyword matching. You can also dismiss suggestions that aren't right for you, which sharpens future picks.

Watch Together

For when two of you can't agree on what to watch. Invite a friend, prompt the room, and get five films picked from both your tastes — with per-person match scores so you can see who it leans towards.

Steer the suggestions with a free-text prompt (e.g. "a 90s thriller, but nothing too dark") and Kinorg figures out the constraints. Don't fancy a pick? Dismiss it with an optional reason and the next round avoids that vibe.

Watch Together needs each person to have rated or liked at least 15 films so there's enough taste signal to work with.

Everything else

Beyond lists and recommendations, Kinorg lets you keep a personal watch log with star ratings and short reviews, maintain a watchlist of films you want to see, browse curated collections, check where films are streaming, and see what's screening at independent cinemas near you.

Kinorg is free. It's an independent project, built and maintained by jmgk.dev.
